We were talking about these at Monday's meeting and I still can't find where on the IPF site the details are. Anyway here is an email I got from the IPF with the arrangements:-

"The adjudication session will be on Saturday 26th November, In the Institute of Technology, Thurles. Please bring your panel to the venue between 8.30 am and 9.30 am on the 26th November. Adjudication will begin at 10.00am.

You should collect your panel at the end of the adjudication session."

Attending is very worthwhile if you are considering a panel in the future to see the standard and the judging procedure. Bring binoculars if you have them to see detail on the prints. Normally, they start with the L panels but i am awaiting email to confirm this - I'll update if I get the info. I'll be heading down about 11.15 am if anyone wants to join me. If you can't go, here is the link to my current list of pannels online

John,

The Fellowship panels will be done first at 10am followed by L and A panels.
I'll get someone on the council to send out a mail about it

Yes, I just heard that too. As of now, there will 6 Fs, 8 As, and 68 Ls. So I will now be leaving at about 8am (subject to checking the travel time) if anyone wants travel down with me but I may not stay for all of the L's.

Anyone looking for info on distinctions can also find lots of useful stuff on the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) distinctions page - much of this would applicable to IPF disticntions.

Interestingly, the RPS allows panels to be presented in 3 rows as well as the 2 row layout, as required by IPF. They also themes within a panel - normally 1 per row.
Lots of successful panel examples here too. I think the option of the 3 row layout allows for additionaly creativity.
