2026 Club Exhibition Underway
Our 2026 Club Exhibition is now on display in Ballyogan Library until 30 September. A big congratulations to those members exhibiting – the images are superb and do the Club proud!
WhatsApp Offshoot News
As advised at last Monday's meeting we are launching a WhatsApp group called Offshoot News to improve communications to all our members. It will be a “broadcast only” group with no facility for member responses or chat.
Shoot With Me - Call For Group Leaders
Many thanks to the members who have proposed to lead various SWM groups over the Autumn – your commitment and enthusiasm is very much appreciated.
In order to offer members a full programme we still need a few more leaders. So if you feel like volunteering please email swm@offshoot.ie or talk to Bob Acton at next Monday night’s club meeting.
Club Competition
Entries are now open for our next OffShoot Photography Competition, with a €25 One4All voucher to the winning photographer in each Level.

Limitations: Only 1 image per member
Submit Date: Monday, 21 September 2026
Judging Date: Monday, 28 September 2026
Judge: Here’s the fun bit: this is a Self Judging competition! Just bring your phone with you so you can submit your winning entry.
Printing & Mounting Cost: €14 (normal lustre paper)
Remember, this is a PRINTED competition. You can choose to print and mount your own photograph yourself – some guidelines here – but most people are likely to want to outsource that job to the OffShoot Committee for a modest fee.
Please read the following carefully before proceeding:
- PICK. Choose your best image to submit – it can be of any topic or genre. You can enter just one image in this competition. Please remember to name your files using the usual competition convention: Level No-Membership Number-Title e.g. L3-123-Blue Skies
- SUBMIT. As usual, you upload your image files to the OffShoot Dropbox link: https://tinyurl.com/offshoot-comp. Note that you still need to upload your image even if you are printing and mounting it yourself. The closing date for uploading your image is Monday 21 September.
- PAY. Click here to pay for printing and mounting. Simply select the number of images (1 for this competition) and head to the Checkout. Please include your membership number in the section “Your message for the merchant” when you get to the Checkout. Remember that if you don’t submit your payment, your images won’t get printed ☹
