Great to see a large number of entries for last week’s competition, and the high standard of shots. A good way to end competitions for the year. Let’s keep it up in 2019 now! (Next Year's schedule will be published soon.)
This coming Monday we have the meeting that everyone looks forward to each year… the AGM! Seriously though, it’s an important opportunity to hear about, and take part in, the review of what the club has been up to over the last year. To let us know what you think about what we’ve been doing, and what we should be doing in the future. And of course to think about what you can do to help the club. So please come along and take part.
The Committee will be proposing that the yearly subscription fee is increased from €80 to €90. The reasons for this will be presented at the AGM.
We encourage members to become involved in the committee and would suggest that even if you don't want to be the main committee member that you join one of the subcommittees like IPF, Outings, Competition, Door or New Members.
If you're interested in either helping or joining the committee please email

Offaly County Council Winter Photo Competition

Offaly Tourism Marketing (CLG) is delighted to announce our Winter Photo Competition, allowing the public to show off the best sites Offaly has to offer. As most people carry a phone or tablet with them in their daily routine, so the chance to take an inspired snap is always just a click / snap away.

We are calling on the people and visitors to Offaly to show us your favourite place in the county. That may be a locals scenic view from the backyard or a day-tripper's Sunday stroll along a woodland path. Get out and show off what we have here to offer.

All you have to do is to take the snap and send it to Visit Offaly via email or our social media channels by using the #offalywinter. We will collect and select a shortlist that will then be posted via our website and social media, allowing the public to select a winner.
