New Exhibition of Scott MacBride's FIPF Panel in the Eddie Chandler Dublin Camera Club Gallery from Saturday 24th March at 11am, running to Saturday 7th April

Scott MacBride FIPF is a Scottish creative self portrait photographer living in Dublin. His work has a narrative quality often based in humour. See more of his work at https://www.flickr.com/photos/scottmacbride/.

Scott recently achieved the distinction of Fellowship of the IPF (FIPF) for this panel of images which is on exhibition.

Scott’s FIPF Statement:
Category: Self Portraits
The IPF handbook states “all assessments are carried out anonymously” but with this panel I seem to have wavered my right to anonymity…I am a self portrait photographer.

For me self portraiture is not about ego but about creativity and self expression, each of my images captures a little piece of my quirky personality.

At times I feel like I’m part photographer, part performance artist and If I have to make a fool of myself to get my idea across then so be it.

This panel of twenty images comes from a body of work that spans over seven years of taking a self portrait everyday, it’s a miracle I’m not fed up with the sight of my own face yet.

Scott MacBride

The Eddie Chandler Gallery is in the Dublin Camera Club  premises, 10 Lightroom Camden Street and is open to the public every Saturday from 11am to 5pm.  Free entry.

September Weekend Landscape Workshop in Donegal - 13th September to 17th September 2018

Four-night workshop on the Inishowen Peninsula with Mike Brown. This has been an exceptionally popular workshop for the last 5 years and Mike is going back again this September.

Inishowen is just fantastic for its diversity and rugged beauty and it produces unique and different images each year. You can make images here which you won't find in typical portfolios as it is not visited as widely as the usual hot spots of landscape photography. We also visit some interesting "built landscapes" for variety and interest.

September Weekend Landscape Workshop in West Cork - 27th September to 1st October 2018

Four-night workshop in the Clonakilty area of West Cork. Known for its rugged coastline and beautiful beaches this area is a treasure trove of photographic opportunities. Miek has lived in and photographed this area for over 25 years and knows the area like the back of his hand. A wide variety of images await and Mike will guide you and assist you with your technique wherever required.
