This coming Monday is another practical night. Via demonstrations and hands-on trials, we will use what flashes we have to hand to take images of each other and work out what works best.

More details can be found on the club website calendar here

Competition

Don’t forget the theme of the next competition is Autumn Colours. So a good time to get out over the next few weeks and capture those colours as they develop. Competition hand-in is 19th November.

IPF National Shield Competition

The National Shield takes place on the 18th November, with a deadline for submissions of the 4th November. We therefore need to have our selection complete at least by 27th October. So no time to waste.

This competition is designed for non-advanced photographers.  Members of our club who have AIPF distinctions or higher are excluded. Those with an L distinction can enter, but only 2 images from a panel of 8 can contain entries from LIPF holders.  There are some more complex rules, which our selection committee will need to bear in mind when selecting our panel images.

Some Reasons To Enter.
1. Opportunity to represent your club.
2. Winning entries are used by the IPF for use in international competitions. This could be your big break.
3. Images selected by the club will be printed to exhibition standard and returned to each photographer.

Details on how to enter will be circulated to members by email shortly.

IPF Mid East Region.

IRISH PHOTOGRAPHIC FEDERATION’S 36th NATIONAL AUDIOVISUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS & 1st OPEN PHOTO HARMONY COMPETITION.

20th & 21st October 2018 in Aras Chronain Ionad Cultuir, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.

Judges - BevTyrer & Alan Tyrer, CPAGB/AV, ARPS.

It’s nearly here! Final preparations are being made. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on either day or better still - both days!
We have a full programme. There are entries in all categories in the National Championships - Novice, Intermediate, Club & Advanced representing several clubs/societies. All national entries will be commented on. In the Open Photo Harmony competition, there are entries from 3 continents - we’ll have to work on the rest - America, Asia & Antarctica! So, a great chance to see the different styles in this medium of audiovisual. There will be also assessments for distinctions in Audio Visual and an opportunity to see some of the judges’ work.

Further details were posted by Liam Haines on the OffShoot Facebook group page.
