IPF National Shield Club Competition

OffShoot had a very successful entry in this year’s IPF National Shield club competition. We came third in the overall competition, and third in the mono competition.

We also had two photographs receive a ‘highly commended’ grade by the judges, by Gerry Donovan and Matt Dunne.

Many thanks to Matt and the team who put together the entry. And to everyone who submitted images to ensure the high standard of our panels. The successful panels will be on display at this Monday’s meeting.

Competition Judging

This Monday evening we also have the judging of the last competition of the year, with its theme of autumn colours. The judge for this competition will be Gerry Andrews. His work can be seen at www.gerryandrews.com.

AGM

We will be having our AGM on 3rd December 2018. Notice of this meeting with the Agenda was issued on Monday 19th November to all members via email.

The Committee will be proposing that the yearly subscription fee is increased from €80 to €90. The reasons for this will be presented at the AGM.

We encourage members to become involved in the committee and would suggest that even if you don't want to be the main committee member that you join one of the subcommittees like IPF, Outings, Competition, Door or New Members.

If you're interested in helping or joining the committee please either email secretary@offshoot.ie or speak to Ian (Chair) or Russell (Secretary) at the next meeting.

Offaly County Council Winter Photo Competition

Offaly Tourism Marketing (CLG) is delighted to announce our Winter Photo Competition, allowing the public to show off the best sites Offaly has to offer. As most people carry a phone or tablet with them in their daily routine, so the chance to take an inspired snap is always just a click / snap away.

We are calling on the people and visitors to Offaly to show us your favourite place in the county. That may be a locals scenic view from the backyard or a day-tripper's Sunday stroll along a woodland path. Get out and show off what we have here to offer.

All you have to do is to take the snap and send it to Visit Offaly via email or our social media channels by using the #offalywinter. We will collect and select a shortlist that will then be posted via our website and social media, allowing the public to select a winner.

Further details here.
