Shoot With Me Presentations
Last Monday we had the first of the Shoot With Me presentations and, as usual, the participants in this programme both enjoyed themselves and produced images of a high quality.
Shoot With Me is unique to Offshoot and enables members to share in a project that they may both learn and socialise. The resulting interaction always produces superb camaraderie and some inventive and creative images. Long may it continue.
Next Monday, we will have the second of our presentations by participating groups. Do come, be entertained and view some more very creative images.
Congratulations to Robbie O’Leary and Lionel Barker
At the Distinctions sitting of the IPF in Thurles Robbie was awarded his Fellowship and Lionel a Licentiate. To fully appreciate the importance of this is to understand the dedication, work and enthusiasm of Robbie and Lionel in the development of their photographic journey.
Offshoot has only ever had one member awarded a Fellowship, the highest accolade available from the IPF. It was given with enthusiastic aplomb by all the judges. Robbie has given almost 5 years of his life to get 20 images of such a high standard. He has as many ‘rejects’ of a standard high enough to fill another panel.
Lionel has started his IPF journey and his panel, too, was awarded without any quibble by the adjudicators. His panel of 10 images reflects a superb body of work in differing genres. We feel sure that Lionel will want to continue his success at the higher levels.
The success of both Robbie and Lionel should be a spur to all members to test their skill with a wider audience.
It is hoped that both will properly present their successful panels in the near future that they may receive the plaudits from our membership.
Outings Galore
Yet again Eithne and her gallant band of helpers has produced a variety of outings for the benefit of members. The weekend at Mullrany at the end of November when we filled the Mullrany Park Hotel may have passed off without a blast of trumpets but it was, nevertheless, the highlight of the year.
The members’ images from this outing were of the highest quality and in spite of a dismal weather usual in the West of Ireland the enjoyment was appreciated by all.
If you haven’t been on any outings with Eithne and Company, try it out. Bring the photo gear to anywhere arranged and expect to enjoy the experience. |
