Christmas Party
On the 16th December, our year comes to an end. To celebrate, we are having our annual Christmas Party at the Horse and Hound in Cabinteely at 8 pm.
Put on your Christmas Jumper and join us there.
First Date Back 2025
Our first night back in the New Year will be the 6th of January. We are looking forward to seeing you then!
The 2025 Photo Challenge (2025 PC)
We are delighted to announce that the 2025 Photo Challenge will launch in January.
As before, members will be free to set their own theme for the challenge and we will present our work to the club next October.
So, as you enjoy your festive cheer, give some thought to how you will challenge yourself photographically in 2025.
Full details of the 2025 PC will be published in early January.
Shoot With Me 2025
For those who are new to the club:
Shoot With Me is a project-based activity the club puts together twice a year.
The principle idea is that around 12 club members volunteer to facilitate a small group of other club members in a chosen photographic project.
The essence of SWM is twofold:
1. It gives members an opportunity to meet and socialise with other members while taking part in a photographic project, and
2. It gives members a chance to practice/explore/develop or learn about some aspect of photography.
To bring your newfound skills to fruition, everyone gets to present two of their images at a Showcase in May.
Call for Leaders:
As ever, the success of SWM relies on getting 12 volunteer leaders. If you want to volunteer but are unsure if you can do it, talk to other members about sharing the task.
Many groups have had two members sharing the Group Leader role.
Ideally, we would like to kick off the Spring SWM as soon as possible after the Christmas break, so please get in touch as soon as possible.
As always, it cannot start until the leaders are in place.
To volunteer to lead a group, email your chosen project title and include a short description to swm@offshoot.ie.
SWM Projects:
The project can be anything at all – macro, landscape, architecture, flowers, wildlife, street photography, water movement, painting with light, portraiture ……the list is endless. It doesn’t have to be an original project. It could be one you previously participated in or didn’t get to.
