Next Monday (September 11) – Scott Hurd

Next Monday evening we will have a Zoom presentation from Scott Hurd entitled “Living and Working as a Professional Photographer in Namibia – The Sequel”

For those who have already seen part one, Scott continues talking about his life as a photographer in his fascinating adopted country. This is a completely new talk, highlighting different areas of the country, new work assignments, even more conservation, new stories and more wonderful wildlife. Camera tips and techniques abound. His usual relaxed and informed manner remains the same.

IPF Shield Competition – Images Needed Now 

Offshoot intends to enter two panels of images (Colour and Mono) to the IPF Shield Club Competition this Autumn.

To get the process started, we are asking members to submit up to 5 colour and 5 mono images for consideration to be included in the club panels.

So please act now and submit your images to the following Dropbox link:

We request your images by 12 September to give us time to select the Club panels.

Shoot With Me Up and Running

Thanks to the generosity of 10 members who have volunteered to lead SWM Groups, the process is now underway on schedule.

If you have applied to be a member of a Group, you will be contacted by the relevant Group Leader over the next few days to get your activities into action.

We hope everyone enjoys their SWM experience and look forward to seeing all the great images at the SWM Showcases on November 27 and December 04.

We have a tradition of showing member’s images from outings etc on our website. If you would like your images to be included, please submit them to the following Dropbox link:

Please clearly label the outing name in the image filename. As usual at list 1400px on the longest edge.

Next Club Competition

The next Club Competition will be judged on Monday 25 September. It will be for printed images. The theme is as follows:

Level 1 Members:   Mono Open

Level 2 & 3 Members: Mono Architecture and / or Landscape 

As usual please save your images in JPEG format and name them with your Level Number, Membership Number and Image Title as follows:

Each member may submit up to two images in this competition.

This is a printed competition. If you wish, please upload your images to Steve for printing by September 11 using the following link (payment is made for the prints as part of the uploading):

Hand in of images will be at the club meeting on 18 September.
