Next Monday – Club Meeting – Show and Tell
Next Monday members are invited to bring along various bits of favourite kit and explain to the meeting why they like it and how they use it in their photography. The kit may be anything from bags to filters and everything in between. The idea here is that members may get to see kit that they have not seen before and get to understand whether it might be of interest to them.
Shoot With Me (SWM) – Last Call for Leaders
Many thanks to the leaders who have already volunteered for the Autumn. Two more leaders are needed before the cut-off date of Monday 22 September, after which the process of allocating places will commence.
As it stands, and based on the experience of previous years, we don’t have enough groups to cater for all the members who usually wish to participate.
If you would like to volunteer to lead a group, send an email with your chosen project title and include a short description to swm@offshoot.ie

IPF Shield Competition
Each year in November Offshoot submits two panels of images for the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) National Shield Competition – one monochrome and one colour. This competition is intended for club members who do not hold a photographic diploma or degree, an IPF Associateship or Fellowship or an IPF Medal.
So having told you who cannot apply we are seeking images from all other members for both the monochrome and colour panels. Please send us as many of your images as possible in both categories.
We are starting early this year in the hope that we can give members some feedback. So go back through your library of images for the good ones we know you have as well as checking on Flickr, Facebook and all social media. Send them to us via the Dropbox link below as jpgs at least 2000 pixels on their longest side for consideration.
When you have decided what images you would like to submit, please upload them to this Dropbox link having named your files in the following format:
Membership No – Image Title eg 808 – The Bay at Dawn

November Trip to Connemara
A reminder about the weekend away to Connemara on 07 to 09 November – if you are interested there are still a few rooms available. Contact the Outings Team for details.
Please Collect Your Exhibition Images
After a very well received exhibition at the DLR Lexicon, most members have by now collected their prints. However, a few remain to be claimed. There are also some images from activities last year and earlier this year to be claimed by the owners.
If you have not yet done so please collect your images at our 22 September meeting at the school or contact Emily Gallagher or Sara Hanley to agree alternative arrangements. |
