Club Outing – Henrietta Street
Our next outing is a visit to 14 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, which is one of several terraced Georgian houses built in the early to mid-1700s by very wealthy families.
After the Acts of Union, many of them moved to London.
In 1876, number 14 was converted into 19 tenement flats, with one outside tap and a toilet to be shared among all its residents, and by 1911, 100 people lived in the house. The last tenement residents left in the late 1970s.
In 2018, Dublin City Council opened 14 Henrietta Street as a museum.
We will have a private tour of the house starting at 2.15 pm. We can use tripods as long as they have rubber feet.
Admission is €10 (seniors €8)
Meeting time is 2.05 pm at the house 14 Henrietta Street.
