News

Last Monday Night

Last Monday Neil Lennon spoke to us about his process in Product Macro Photography. It was interesting to see how many images you need to stack for front to back focus of tiny items.

Next Monday Night

This meeting will start at 7.30pm and Gerry Andrews FIPF, ARPS, AFIAP from Dublin Camera Club will be Judging our 'Monochrome' competition. Good luck to everyone who entered.

Please see the Club Competition section of our Newsletter for more information.

Our Club Exhibition is Back

The exhibition is coming back and will be held in the DLR Lexicon over 6 weeks commencing on 12 July.

The closing date for the submission of images is the 30th of April. So now is a great time to either start looking through your images to find something you may like to submit or to go and shoot something new if you wish.

This week's Flickr theme is Weather. I can't guarantee what it will be but we definitely will have some. If you want a challenge, see how many types you can get in a week. Here's a list to start with.

Rain, hail, snow, wind, storm, lightning, clouds, rainbow,  frost, ice, fog and maybe if you are lucky, sunshine.

What is Flickr Theme of the Week?

This is not a competition rather an opportunity to learn a bit about an area of photography or try a different type of photography. The photo selected each week can be picked because it's technically excellent or equally because it's unusual, funny, creative or thought-provoking.

To enter your shots just upload from your Flickr page to the OffShoot Flickr page before 7 PM the following Friday. Please title your shot with the theme of the week + your own title.

Wishing you an enjoyable and educational 2022 from the Flickr theme pickers.

For those who may not have engaged with this yet here's how it works. Each week a theme/topic is set.

During the week you shoot or process an image in that theme. and load it on the Flickr site. One image will be selected as the "theme pic of the week" and published in the following week's newsletter.

Why bother? The theme pic gives you an opportunity to explore and try out many different styles and types of photography. It increases the variety of images on our site and is an excellent opportunity to expand your creativity and photography skills and you get your picture in the weekly newsletter!
