On Saturday 27th May, a small but merry gang of 4 arrived at Inistioge, a beautiful and historic village on the river Nore in South Kilkenny.
We rambled around the town down to the bridge, this ten-arch rubble stone Classical-style road bridge was built in 1763. We had our lunch, al fresco at a local pub and enjoyed a great chat.
Then we headed up to Woodstock and walked around the gardens ending up having coffee and cake in the stunning Turner Conservatory overlooking the flower terraces.
Some of us visited Jerpoint Abbey on the way home as it was just a short drive from Woodstock.
