On Saturday, 21st March, ten club members went to Rathdown School to photograph a hockey match between Monkstown Hockey Club and Pembroke Hockey Club. We were fortunate with the weather as we had blue skies and warmth. The match was fast and furious with action taking place all over the pitch. However, it was not long before Pembroke showed their superiority and went into a two-goal lead.
It was a great experience, but everyone agreed it was difficult to keep up with the play to capture the perfect action shot. However, as the game went on, everyone was able to find a way to capture interesting action shots of the players. Photographing a hockey match was a little more challenging than taking pictures of most other team sports.
After the game concluded, we retired to the local coffee shop at Glenageary roundabout for refreshments and chat covering a wide range of subjects.
