On Saturday 27th September, sixteen photographers gathered at Malahide Castle on a rainy Saturday for an outing focused on butterfly photography.
The combined ticket included entry to the butterfly greenhouse and gardens, but poor weather kept everyone indoors.
Fortunately, condensation wasn’t an issue, and participants used various lenses—including macros—to photograph the active, colourful butterflies. Lighting was decent but capturing butterflies in flight remained challenging due to exposure limitations.
After an hour of shooting, the group enjoyed coffee at Avoca Café.
Overall, it was a pleasant event well-suited to the day’s weather, and anticipation is high for the resulting butterfly photos.
