Club Outing – Old Belvedere Rugby

5 March 2025 | Club Outings

On Saturday, 1st March, ten members of Offshoot assembled at Ollie Campbell Park, the home ground of Old Belvedere, for an AIL match against Nenagh Ormond. Belvedere and Nenagh were first and second, respectively, in the 1B league, and it promised to be a competitive fixture with plenty of action. This was the second time Offshoot had attended a match at Old Belvedere, the previous one being in November last year.

The light was good, allowing for fast shutter speeds and reasonable ISOs.

The match itself showcased Old Belvedere’s tactical prowess and resilience. Building on their narrow 32-31 victory over Nenagh Ormond earlier in the season, they demonstrated improved cohesion and strategy in this fixture. Nenagh Ormond, despite the loss, displayed commendable effort and skill. Their recent performances, including a 38-25 win over Highfield on February 15, 2025, highlight their competitive spirit in the league.

There was plenty of action for us to capture—scrums, lineouts, mauls, and not to mention four tries from Old Belvedere and two from Nenagh.

The match concluded with a 34-22 victory for Old Belvedere, solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.
