On Tuesday 27th May, a very wet rainy day, five members met outside the library in UCD. Given the weather conditions, we had probably chosen the best place for an outing, as there are plenty of covered walkways and accessible buildings.
Our first port of call was the Confucius Institute. It’s a striking cream and glass building in front of a pond. Inside is a lovely 3-storey glass and wood atrium. There is also a Chinese restaurant in the building and from the lovely aromas, they had clearly started preparing for lunch.
From there, we split up and continued our tour of the campus, looking for unusual or interesting subjects and vantage points.
After an hour, we met up, as arranged, in the Science Building. This is another lovely modern building which has a stunning staircase.
We took turns photographing it from the top and the bottom, and then turned our attention to the important matters of tea, coffee and muffins.
UCD offers a wealth of photo opportunities, and we all agreed to return when it was a little drier.
