Club Outing – Mount Usher Autumn Colour
Our next outing is to Mount Usher Gardens, where we hope to photograph some lovely autumn colour.
The 22-acre gardens are set alongside the river Vartry and were initially laid out in 1868. They feature over 5,000 plants, woodlands, riverbanks and bridges.
It’s always tricky to time the colours turning with the likelihood of high winds removing all the foliage. In any case, there’s definitely going to be plenty of interest for us there.
Avoca now owns the gardens, so there will be nice coffee and sweet treats to look forward to afterwards.
Admission in €10 (€8 for seniors).
We’ll meet at the main entrance of Mount Usher Gardens at 10 am.
