The Face You Pull
Thor, the Strongman. Duffy's Circus, 8 October 2026. An OffShoot photography outing. Title stolen from Where is Gone? from Fontaines DC (and Rosalía) whose latest album Dopamine Chamber was released today. "The face you pull with pervert lines The perfect way to say 'I love you' On a rainy day in my head. The picture frame, it shows your face It's only worth what you pay in this world I could care less, so careless But, baby, when you smile."

Dublin Mountains (Autumn)
Dublin mountains on fire this evening... Very similar to last night.. Difficult to tone down the blazing clouds... Will have another go in a few days to process and try and get a better balance. Shot with a 24 mm lens, but used 5 vertical frames to cover the scene. Views to the south and Dublin Bay were all a joy to behold.

"The legendary Duffy Brothers return to the Space Wheel of Death - Ireland's most iconic and pulse-pounding circus act. Tom and Jamie perform breathtaking tricks at terrifying heights with no net and no harness. It has to be seen to be believed, and even then you might not believe it."

Chapter House Ceiling
The ceiling of the chapter house at York Minster. It was built in the late thirteenth century, during a comprehensive rebuilding and progressive replacement of the then-existing Norman Romanesque minster. It is of octagonal plan and is unusual in not having a central column to support the relatively large roof.

Laytown Races

Laytown Races
Another shot from the Laytown Races, 10 September 2026. An OffShoot Outing. "Laytown racecourse is an extremely unique track as it is Ireland's only horse racing event run on a beach under the Rules of Racing. Laytown Racecourse is a seven-furlong straight track that is on a tidal beach. Racing takes place on just one day in September each year, with the races all run over either six or seven furlongs. Until the 2015 meeting, races commenced via a flag start, but stalls have now been introduced. People travel far and wide to witness the spectacle of horse racing on the beach in Ireland, with crowds in excess of 5,000 in attendance every year. As the tide recedes in the morning of race day, the race course is quickly set up allowing for six races of between six furlongs and one mile. The majority of racegoers watch the action from an elevated field above the strand which is set up for the day with temporary marquees which act as the weigh room, the jockeys’ room, bars and restaurants."

Tetrapod B/W. The oldest known footprints on Earth. Valentia Island.
360,000,000 years ago a 4 legged amphibian walked on a sandy shoreline in Earth’s southern hemisphere, erect like a Komodo Dragon, dragging its tail behind. The beach morphed to sandstone and tectonic action send it northwards, ultimately becoming Valentia Island.
